Lee quit International cricket after being forced to return home from an injury shortened tour of England, claiming that he had lost the desire to play day in day out. He however, has made himself available for the upcoming Big Bash League and will most likely be a part of the Indian Premier League.
Akhtar, the only man to clock 100mph, said losing Lee was a sad day for cricket. "Friday (July 13th) was a sad day for international cricket because a bowler with express pace has retired, someone who was loved by the fans around the world, and he will be missed," said Akhtar. Lee retired as the second best ODI bowler for his country and the fourth leading man in Australian Test cricket with 380 and 310 wickets respectively.
