Shoaib Akhtar wants Indo-Pak series – Cricket News Update

Cricketing ties between the two countries are heavily dependent on their political relationship, which at the best of times is not cordial.
Pakistan and India have not played a bilateral series since 2007-08 due to the terror attacks in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 in November 2008. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been urging their Indian counterparts to resume the cricketing relations but the Board of Control for
Cricket in India (BCCI) does not seem too interested.
The PCB Chairman, Zaka http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashraf-c46397 said recently that the Indian cricket officials are afraid of playing against Pakistan because of the sort of form the Green Shirts have been showing since the last one year.
Shoaib further added that cricket fans all around the world want to see India and Pakistan play against each other but the behaviour of the Indian cricket authorities has been frustrating. The former fast bowler feels that the statement given by Ashraf is
a little harsh, because being PCB Chairman he must be extremely careful.
The Rawalpindi Express said, "Obviously it is frustrating the way the Indians have avoided playing us for some reason or the other all these years. But I think Zaka Ashraf's statement was a bit too strong and he needed to be careful while giving comments
because of his position as PCB chairman."
However, Akhtar agrees that Misbah ul Haq and company have the ability to beat any team because they have been playing exceptional cricket since the last one and a half years. He further added that Pakistan has historically dominated India in bilateral competitions.
"But it was a bit too strong. I think he meant that Pakistan in its current form could beat anyone. It is also a fact that since 1985 we have won more matches against India because we have produced some of the most exciting talent in international cricket,"
he added.
