Shoaib Malik: We are prepared for CLT20 challenge – Cricket News Update
Pakistan’s domestic Twenty20 champions Sialkot Stallions are all set to make their Champions League T20 debut today, October 9, 2012, at Johannesburg, and skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shoaib-Malik-c90088 has said that they are prepared for the challenge.
This is the fourth edition of the global T20 showdown, which features the domestic champions of major cricketing nations. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 (CSA).
But this time around the BCCI president invited Pakistan’s domestic champions as well to participate in the tournament, which will run in South Africa, between October 9 and 28.
“...it’s great to be here, it’s a great tournament and we know we are prepared for it,” said former Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik, who will be leading the Sialkot Stallions in the 14-team tournament.
Pakistan team will play in the pre-tournament qualifiers between October 9 and 11, to earn a place in the main tournament. A total of six teams, divided into two groups of three each, will be competing in the qualifying stage. The Stallions lost a warm-up match to English county Yorkshire by 23 runs on their arrival in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ian-Harold-King-c63858 nation. About his team’s defeat against the Carnegies, Malik said, “We arrived in South Africa at around midnight on Saturday and played the game the next morning. We were very tired and we are still a little tired.”
