if deemed good enough by the PCB.
On the other hand, sidelined former skipper, Shoaib Malik, may not be so lucky as he is still facing a case in front of PCB’s integrity committee and so far there has not been any progress in his case.
Spinner Danish Kaneria is entangled in the same predicament as he too is facing charges of corruption in front of the integrity committee.
Speaking on the case of the sidelined cricketers, an official of the PCB, on the condition anonymity, said, “The cases of the two players are still not cleared. Both the players are yet to prove their innocence. It is not possible to award central contracts
to them without categorical clearance.”

by a local British tabloid “News of the World”, which suggested the players had taken bribes to deliberately bowl no-balls during the Lord’s test against England in the summer of 2010.
Later, in February 2011, the tainted trio was banned for a minimum period of five-years from any form of cricket after an International Cricket Council (http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625) hearing found the accused guilty of all charges.
This errupted a witch-hunt within the PCB, to find any players who could have links potential bookmakers. The PCB introduced a strict code of conduct and formed an integrity committee to look into the financial details of suspected players.
Among the suspects, Malik and Kaneria topped the list. According to reports, Malik failed to provide information about his foreign bank account, while Kaneria who was arrested in England on suspicions of fixing a county match, was asked to give details of
his case.
So far the two have failed to convince the integrity committee and because of this the players are still not cleared to be selected for national duty.
