Discarded Pakistani all-rounder, Shoaib Malik, is of the opinion that the proposed franchise cricket league in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 is a wonderful idea and said that it can revive international cricket in the country.
Since the last three years, the Green Shirts have been isolated in world cricket as no team is prepared to help Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in reviving international cricket in the country. On top of that, no Pakistani players are invited to play the Indian
Premier League (IPL) and no Pakistani team takes part in the Champions League T20, which is a shame.
However, PCB has decided to launch its own league in its bid to restore high-quality cricket in the country. It remains to be seen what response the PCB gets from the cricket fraternity all around the globe.
Malik, who has been in and out of the national team since the last eight months, is excited about the prospect of such a tournament and said that apart from the revival of international cricket in Pakistan, such a league is bound to give financial security
to the domestic players of the country. Like many other players in Pakistan, Malik also thinks that the domestic players should be paid higher, so that they can focus on improving their game.
"The other benefits would include financial benefits for the domestic players and the chance for youngsters to play alongside international players and learn from their experience," Malik said.
Malik feels that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 have successfully organized such tournaments and franchise cricket has improved the standard of cricket in these two countries. The former captain of the national team has no doubts in his mind about the success of such
a league in Pakistan because the people in the country love the game of cricket.
“Both leagues have helped the new and younger players in both countries in many ways. It has benefited them playing with international stars. T20 cricket is already very popular in Pakistan and we have a strong history of doing well in this format of the
game. We were the world champions and our people love this format," he added.
