Shoaib Malik hopeful about getting his place back in the Pakistan side
Shoaib Malik, Pakistan’s talented all-rounder is hopeful about his comeback in the national squad very soon.
Malik was dropped by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) last year for his alleged links with some bookies.
He has been playing club cricket to improve his skills and stay in-touch with the game. Since no charges against him have been proved, he is confident that the board will soon allow him back in the national team.
Talking to the media, Malik said, “I only believe in my game and I am hopeful I will win my place by proving my worth.”
During the August 2010 Test series against England, Malik was accused of having ties with some of the bookies involved in match-fixing and spot-fixing practices.
As a result of such corruption scandals, three Pakistani players, Muhammad Amir, Muhammad Asif and Salman Butt had to face bans and fines from the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The fixing scandals have brought great disrepute to the PCB and the Pakistani team. Now, the International cricket fraternity minutely scans every game featuring the Men in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Green-c60723.
There was no conclusive evidence regarding Malik’s case, however, the PCB laid him off in order to avert more scandals and allegations.
Malik has been striving hard to return to the team since then. His case has been pending with the PCB but there have been no developments.
According to Malik, he has contacted the board officials many a times but responses have been reluctant and scarce.
Malik said, “There is no official version by PCB on my case and I cannot comment on it further. I did my job and now it is up to the board to decide my case.”
Since his suspension, the all-rounder has kept himself busy with domestic cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747.
He shared, “I am keeping myself busy by playing club cricket to maintain my form and fitness, Cricket is my passion and I am completely focusing on it right now.”
Making his international debut in 1999, Mailk has given some outstanding performances for Pakistan. He would have made the Pakistani side stronger had he been present in the recent World Cup.
Analysts believe that if Malik returns to his national side, team Pakistan will regain some of its lost strength. His teammates and the current skipper are also vying for his comeback.
