According to sources, Malik, who on Friday was cleared by the integrity committee is now available for selection and might be picked up for the Zimbabwean tour.
Speaking on the matter, a PCB official on the condition of anonymity said, “Yes, Malik can now be considered for national selection and even for the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 tour but obviously the national selectors and tour selection committee now first need to discuss
their plans regarding Malik."
Pakistan are scheduled to play a Test, three One Day Internationals and two Twenty20 matches in their tour of Zimbabwe, where it is expected that Malik might make the one-day squad if not the Test team.
However, according to sources the main problem for the all-rounder is that his travel documents are not ready which will prevent him from travelling with the team.
“The problem is that nothing is ready for him to travel immediately with the team to Zimbabwe and the selectors have also discussed nothing so far," a source said.
Malik, who was superseded by Younus http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khan-c71319 as the captain of the national team in 2009 was not cleared by the integrity committee which was tasked by the PCB to thoroughly investigate the earnings of the all the players of the Pakistan team.
According to sources, Malik failed to disclose the details of a foreign account and after repeated requests from the integrity committee the all-rounder was unable to give a satisfactory excuse for not revealing the details of the bank account.
