Shoiab Akhtar in ball-tampering row now?
After match-fixing and spot-fixing allegations, the latest row to sully the earlier-completed http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755’s tour of England is the allegation of ball-tampering against Pakistani bowler, Shoaib Akhtar. The allegations came to light when English newspaper Sportsmail
published photographs of Akhtar running his thumb over the seam and then standing over the ball with his spiked shoes.

The incident is said to have happened in the 41st over of the English innings, which saw the English team go on to score, 256 in their fifty overs. This was thanks to a back-to-the-wall innings of 107 by Eoin Morgan that helped them win the game by 121 runs.

It has been reported that the English side had doubts over the manner in which the ball was swinging and there was a suspicion of ball-tampering in the air even before the photographs were released.

Earlier, the English team were particularly harried about the manner in which one of the Pakistani bowlers performed – other than Akhtar – and they had been particularly concerns about the state of the ball after their batting collapse in the third ODI of the
series.

The photographs of Akhtar running his fingers over the ball in an alleged bid to scratch the seam were taken by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Graham-c60529 Chadwick but there is a good chance that he may escape punishment. The reason behind this is that the English cricket board does not want
to involve themselves in another controversy after the tour has been afflicted by a huge match-fixing scandal. The match referee, Jeff Crowe has also not got in touch with the ICC about the issue.

Earlier, the English cricket board had sent out a formal notice to the Pakistan Cricket Board chairman, Ejaz Butt, to apologise to the English cricketers and the ECB for having said that the third ODI was fixed. Butt had said that there were many bookies who
had said that the English cricketers had accepted bribes to lose the Oval ODI against Pakistan.
