My advice to this is no! I mean there is every chance of it being ok, but then again there is every chance of it blowing up. Trust me, this is coming from someone who has done it before, and had no computer in the morning.

Not a good idea.  A lightning strike can cause a power surge that could really fry your computer.

If you have a surge protector (comes built-in on some power strips), it might protect you, but it would be safer to just to un-plug.

No, You should all ways turn your computer off when it is not in use. Because it will blow up. Mine did the power serply blew up.
