Shon Wan Ho powers his way into Men’s Singles third round of the 2011 Yonex Chinese Taipei Open
Korea’s Singles shuttler, Shon Wan Ho stretched his winning run by beating Kwong Beng Chan of Malaysia in the Men’s Singles second round of the 2011 Yonex Chinese Taipei Open, in Chinese Taipei, on Thursday, September 8.
The Korean is placed at number 9 in the Men’s Singles draw of the Taipei Open. He played impressive badminton against Kwong Beng in the second-round fight and won it in two games without facing any considerable resistance from the Malaysian opponent.
Wan Ho is currently enjoying Number 29 position in the Men’s Singles world standings and is aiming to get maximum possible points in the Taipei Open for finding a higher ranking. He consumed only 33 minutes in the court and proved his worth by
ending the match in straight games.
The Korean opened the first set in thrilling fashion as he played to his maximum potential and established a good lead in the opening points of the match. His impressive strokes at the net coupled with his wonderful speed in picking the bird helped him in
creating a gap of 11-5.
Kwong Beng failed to play fast badminton as his slow speed put him in trouble against the firing Korean, who was maintaining the game at the highest pace. Throughout the second-half of the opening set, Wan Ho dictated the pace of the game and won the set
in striking fashion with the margin of 21-10, in 16 minutes.
Wan Ho continued his fast and smooth run in the second set of the match by playing a fast game. His accurate smashes and deceptive net shots disturbed the flow of his opponent, who made many errors in the second game. The Korean was playing killing strokes
from over-head side which helped him in winning the second set with wonderful ease.
The ninth seeded Korean bagged the second game of this Men’s Singles match with a 21-11 score in 17 minutes. This second-round contest ended in 33 minutes with the results of 21-10 and 21-11.
