Shooting pain in lower back

Question

Hi, for a few days now I've had a really sharp shooting pain in my lower back, on the right side. It seems to just come on randomly, not when doing exercise or anything. I'll probably go to the doctor tomorrow, but has anyone else had this before?

Sounds like a spasm. Very common. Try doing some easy stretches between spasms and take an ibuprofen nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. Ice down the area when you are having the pain. Ice helps to break the spasm by anesthetizing it.

It might be from a pinched nerve or syatica pain. It is best to go to the Dr. though. I always use ice for my pain or a hot shower or bath with Epsom salts help as well.
