Shopping areas near Porlamar in the Island of Margarita (Venezuela).?

Can anyone tell me some great shopping areas in or near Porlamar?

We went to this mall just opposite diverland the theme park, can't remember what ti was called but it was brand new with loads of big name shops.

If I were you though I would make the most of the beach!

There are many places to shop in Margarita but depends what you are looking for. If you want to buy clothes, jewelry, shoes and you are looking for big brands then go to the largest shopping mall on the Island, Sambil.

You can also buy clothes, shoes, and similars at very good prices along two important avenues with large boulevard style sidewalks in Porlamar, the 4 de Mayo avenue and the Santiago Mariño avenue. Along these two avenues you can also buy other items from kitchen utensils to art supplies in thousands of stores.

If you are looking for art pieces such as sculptures at good prices and done by locals (mind you they are not native works or products of fine art) go to Playa el Agua and along its boulevard you will be able to pick from hundreds of vendors.

Last but not least if you are looking for those beach necessities: beach towels, bathing suits, food, beverages, beach clothes, beach toys, ice cream, beautiful jewelry (no metal jewelry, only wood, stones, beads, corals and shells) then just sit on your favorite beach and wait for one of the hundreds of vendors to come to you, as they always do, and pick and choose. You probably wouldn't guess that enjoying the beach you can get the variety and quality of products that these guys sell. Plus, you can bargain only at the beach and get great prices for what you buy.
