I am taking a Singapore Airlines flight to Melbourne Australia next week, I have 14 hour stay at Changi Airport.

Can i buy Nokia and Sony cellphones at Changi airport. Also i want to know if prices are good as compared to indian market.

I probably will buy a Nokia N95, Nokia N73 and may be a Sony Ericsson G900.

If anybody can give me a hint about the prices i will be very thankful.

  1. Hi

I was in Singapore airport about a month ago (coming/going to India) so I got a look at the prices.  You can buy phones from any of the shops and the post office in the airport.  BUT the phone prices are not cheaper than what you will buy it for in Australia.  Actually a lot of the stuff is the same price, and in some cases, dearer, than what you will buy it for in Australia.  E.g I bought a Nintendo DS Lite in Sydney for $178 - in Singapore they were around $260.  There is  a difference between our money, but it still works out cheaper to buy in Australia.

As for the Indian market - be careful what you buy at the market.  But it is definetly cheaper to buy mobiles at their shops, than anywhere else.  You can be looking anywhere from $20 (AUD) up..... Sorry I can't tell you what certain phones cost, but I know we were amazed at how cheap they are over there. To the point where it is worthwhile buying two or more while you are there!

  2. buying in airport costs a bomb.. buy in mustafa.
