Shopping in New York at Thanksgiving.?

Hi,

I'm going to NY for thanksgiving this year and just wondered what time the shops open that day after? I've been told that the day after is the big shopping day? Do i need to get up extra extra early??

All major retail stores open early as 6am and their SUPER SAVINGS sales last for 3-4 hrs which is why people like to get there as early as 5am and wait for the door to open. Other stores like bestbuy etc open thier doors around 8am. My best advice is to pick up a post the weekend before thanksgiving and you will find all the stores that are having huge sales and their hours.

Usually stores open anywhere from 7am to regular hours of around 9. Big stores like Macy's, Bloomies, etc. are the ones that will be open really early. You should get a newspaper a few days before because they usually have coupons for that day. They will also list if they have certain things on special if you come in early.
