Shopping with friends

Question

how old do you think you should be when your alowwed to go to the cinema and shopping on your own(with friends)?I'd say @ the begining of year six. Is that to young, If so why?

It depends on what kind of area you live in and how far it is to the shops. I think I was about 10 first time I went alone, but it's good if you have a mobile with you so your parents can always phone you.

i think mid teens 14/15 is ok to be there alone.  12/13 maybe be at the mall when parents are but not "with" with parent.  there are too many sicko's out there that want your kids!!!!  they want to touch them in places they shouldn't be touched and your kid will never be the same!

Six years old is still too young, the world is not safe anymore. Things I did at 10 years old, I wouldn't let my own kids do at that same age...maybe when they're 13 or 14. There are too many child molesters, kidnappers, rapist, ect in the world today and it's just too risky. I think a kid should be at least 12-14 before they're allowed to go shopping and stuff with their friends on their own without an adult. It depends on how mature they are and where you live. But six is way too young even in the safest town to be on their own without an adult.
