You could try a dollar store or what ever you have in London that is equivalent. Or try a toy shop. They should have their summer toys out now and that would include butterfly nets.

The sad answer to this question is that there there are fewer and fewer butterflies left, anyway.  Last summer's weather saw to that, and it looks as if this summer may do the same.  Wet summers destroy butterfly breeding grounds and habitats.  One thing you can do is plant buddleia in your garden - as much as you can.  But ask a more professional person.  I am only an amateur who adores butterflies, but I don't catch them, I see them, clock them, and that's it - let them go.  I find them very romantic.  I hate those boxes where they have been pinned and framed.  Let them loose!  They are a delight.  And oh - do they bring back my childhood!
