i want to buy a tin to collect some money for local charities. please could you provide some details as to where i could buy one

Peeks sell them online, but I would get them from the relevant charity.  Sadly people are wary of plain or hand written labels as too many people are dishonest;)

You should get these from the charities you are collecting for, that way they will have official labels on them and people will be prepared to put money in.
