Short selling our home, do we need Realtor or can we sell it ourselves?

and do we need to get an appraiser or do we ask for a average price of about what the houses are selling for in our neighborhood? We already have an interested person, but do'nt know how to set a price? Any help is appreciated!

I hope you have informed the mortgage company of your plans - they are the ones who stand to lose the most and will insist on having a say in determining the final sale price

Get an appraiser to do a VERBAL report of the sales price.

If they don't have to do a full report, they will probably help you for $50 to $75 or even free if they have a few extra minutes.
