Short sight 2.5 - how serious it is for a 25 year old ?

How serious is short sight 2.5 ? Is it common ? Can this cause any eye issues in future ? Will short sight get better with time ? or get worse ?

  1. It's strange how come recently , so many people keep asking that same question,  "is it bad for my age"

    There is no real equation between age and the prescription required. Some one 15 years younger than you could easily have a correction 5 times stronger.

    A near sighted correction of - 2.50 isn't serious at all...it is still considered as mild.

    Being 25 now, your vision will probably be stable for several years , with maybe a minor change here and there. Providing you have no other health issues that could affect it.

    Those who are in the - 9.00 range have a higher risk of retinal problems, but at - 2.50, that shouldn't normally be a concern.

    No one can say for sure what changes lie ahead, but normally, your near sightedness won't get much worse at your age.

    Regular eye exams are your best bet to keep peace of mind...but there is no reason to expect problems because of that amount of correction.
