Question:

Short-sighted in 1 eye?

I can see more far away clearly if I close my right eye, why is this? This started to happen about a year ago, when I started to sit on PC for long periods of time, before that my eyes were perfect. Can this be because I sit too much on PC, or don't eat enough vegetables/fruits? everyone in my family has very good eyes. Also if I focus on something far away I can see it clearly for about 3 seconds then it becomes blurry.

Thanks.

  1. You have an lazy eye i think , and yes its because your using the computer too much

  2. You will need an eye exam to determine what the problem is.  It is possible to be short sighted in one eye.  I have a friend who is.  I have astigmatism in my left eye and my right eye has normal vision.  When I look into the distance with my left eye everything is a little blurry and I have trouble reading street signs when my right eye can see them clearly.

  3. Go see an optometrist.  No reputable expert will try to diagnose your conditions based solely on a few lines you write here.  And anyone that does probably can't be trusted, in my opinion.  You need an optometrist or ophthalmologist to examine your eyes and make a diagnosis.  Anything you read here is just speculation.
