Short term high school exchange programs to the US?

I am currently attending a high school in New Zealand and I am interested in going on a short (4 months max) exchange program to America, or even more specifically New York. Does anyone know of any suitable organisations or programmes I could look into?? or if it is even possible to chose a specific city?? otherwise general America exchanges are ok.

Almost every exchange program offers a semester program. You can find a list of all of those certified to operate in the U.S. at www.csiet.org. Generally speaking, Aspect, AFS, Rotary and YFU would all be reputable.
