Shortening an WASR3 Barrel.

Question

I have an idea. Would it be possible to take the Front sight on a Wasr3 and move it back against the gas tube. Cut down the barrel just enough, when you permanently attach a flash hider it would be back to Legal Rifle Length? I dont plan on doing it myself just wanted to know if it could be done?

some states do not concider the flash hider part of the barrel and there for does not reach the legal length

Yes it could be done, But if you are going to go through all that , just file a form 4 with the ATF pay the $200 Tax and go Short Barrell Rifle with it.

( I was saying the perminantly attached flash hider is legal in 50 states, which it is contrary to what spades claims, You are correct that not all states allow SBR's and I never intended it to read like that)
