So right now i ride a 151 size board im about 5ft 4in or 5'5. lol i dont really know. but anyway i think i have decided to get teh Custom x after a lot of research. Now they have 2 sizes that will fit me. 147 and the 152. If i go with the 147 does this mean i will be sacrificing speed and stability???? Or does it not matter what size i go with. i feel like 150 is the perfect size for me or 151. but they dont make an in between size so what should i do. I dont think 152 would be too big but 147 would probably be easier to maneuver.

  1. I had to decide the same thing in the beginning of the season. I'm 5'6" and I rode a 151 last season. I decided I did more park so I went down to a youngblood 148. Even though I'm two inches taller, I didnt sacrifice any speed or stability.  Itjust become easy to manuever. Spins, grinds and grabs are so much easier. Ohh, if you do get a more board, it is a good idea to buy any true twin. Switch landings and takeoffs are easy this way

  2. i know they advertise the custom x as a freestyle board, but don't think of that as the same as a park board. Stance is set back so your nose is going to float up more, so you dont dig in powder and stuff like that.

Your weight is going to play a huge role in finding the size you need. Being 5'4 the longer board might overpower you, while the 147 would still be chill for your height, and you'll be able to flex it when necessary. If you go 154 theres not a chance at park, but since it's a directional twin board, getting the shorter board you'll have more freedom to hit the back bowls then kick down to the park.

All depends on your style of ride

  3. The 152 would be best for your size, unless you do alot of pipe and park...

The 152 would be the best for your size stability wise and will give you the right amount of float in the powder...

Im sure you will enjoy more edge giving you greater ease to lay some nice carvs down at your local resort...

    ENJOY

  4. You pretty much answered your own question right there.  The shorter board would be easier to maneuver.

You'll probably find a bigger difference between your 151 and the 147 than you would between the 151 and 152.  One centimeter really isn't that big and probably won't make a huge difference, while you might notice the 4cm down to the 147.  If you can borrow or rent a 147 board (any brand) for a day or weekend to try out you can see what the length difference will mean to you.
