Shouda hot favourite for the Janes Solicitors Jubilee Handicap
Shouda is expected to walk away with a comfortable victory in the Janes Solicitors Jubilee Handicap at Brighton in England on Tuesday, July 3, 2012. The winner of the class-5 event will bag the prize money worth £2,264.
The going will be good in the 1 mile, 3 furlong and 196 yard race, which is scheduled to start at 16:45 GMT. A total of 10 runners have been reeled in, but the conditions will suit, Shouda, more than anyone else.
The six-year-old gelding does not have a lot of experience, but he certainly has the potential to finish at the top of the table today.
His opponents are not in good form, which will also work in his favour at the end of the day. The bookies have given him a general starting price of 3 to 1, and the punters will be eager to place bets on him.
Overall, the Barney Curley’s trainee has participated in nine races, winning a couple of them, whereas finished third the same number of times. In addition to that, he has secured the runner-up position once, which shows that he is a fierce competitor.
Tiger Hill’s son, out of mare Sommernacht, made his debut at the end of the 2010 season, and participated in a couple of races that year. He finished fourth in both of them, which was not bad at all.
The Irish runner started off his 2011 campaign with another fourth place finish. Although, the result was not bad, but his fans would have been annoyed with no improvement after three races.
However, Shouda finally managed to break the shackles, and brought up his first top three finish in April last year. He followed that up with a couple of back-to-back wins, which proved what he is capable of.
The favourite runner has participated in three races in the ongoing season, and his performances in them have been good. He was unable to deliver a decent result in his first outing, but improved over the past couple of starts.
Veteran jockey, Tom Queally, will be the one partnering, Shouda, in the race at Brighton. He has enjoyed plenty of success in his career, but has been a touch out of form over the past few events.
