  1. They have been a pain since the early 60s,any British car.

    Buy a Mercedes instead,and a diesel.

  2. I would acutally report it as a Lemon. You are going just about 3 Times a Year to get it repaired. If you say you are bringing a lawyer into it, Jaguar of North America will most likely completely replace the part that keeps malfunctioning, as well as add something like a warranty extension.

Here is the site about reporting a lemon:

If it does not qualify as a lemon, I would not buy another Jag due to the problems you have with your current one. If I were you, I would match yourself to the options below:

For Value and Technology: Infiniti M35 (23Highway/16City)

For Performance and Looks: BMW 528i (28Highway/18City)

For Safety and Interior: Audi A6 (29Highway/21City)

For Gas Mileage and Luxury: Mercedes-Benz E320 Bluetec (32Highway/22City)

    For Uniqueness: Jaguar XF (26Highway/18City)

    Good Luck on Your Search

PS. If you are willing to spend a little more money, the Lexus GS450h is a great choice. It is a hybrid that does 0-60 in 5.5 Seconds and manages 25Highway/22City. It cost s around $60,000.

  3. Get a MB? Not! If you think the Jag has reliability issues, then by all means, get an MB as the others have suggested. You do not need a Jag or anything else in that class of a car. The suggestion for a Lexus was by far the best. A Toyota Avalon would do just as well. Both the Lexus & Avalon have high reliabilty ratings and way above average in resale values. You need to look at the bigger picture when selecting a car. Can a Jag do anything better or faster than an Avalon? And don't tell me style & performance are the main factors in selecting a Jag. What good is either if the car is 5 feet in the air being taken apart for the 8th time? Though I have not confirmed, I do believe many models of Lexus & the Avalon may indeed get the mpg's you seek. These are my opinions & I'm stickin' to em.

  4. Yeah get rid of that lemon.

Get a smaller Lexus or something.

EDIT: It sounds like you don't want a reliable, efficient car, you want a "status symbol." Just buy the new Jag and keep wasting your money on gas and maintenance. It doesn't matter. You're not gonna listen to anyone anyway.

  5. So after having this one in service 8 times since January you want to buy the S Type R?  Go get an Acura!
