Question:

Shoul i stop the cartoons completely?

my son might have pdd and he does a lot of scripting, meaning he reapeats entire conversations he heard on cartoons, and he doesn't even talk yet, only asks for a couple things and usually just using 1 word , shoul i try to cut off

the cartoons so maybe he forgets about them and stops scripting?

  1. wows thast kinda wierd.... My kids repeats alot of what they here. We limit tv not so much because of that just cause its not the best for them. I would say maybe just limit him and have him watch educational type cartoons.


  2. yes you should do that because when he gets older, he would want to watch tv instead of going outside and getting excersise, which is un healthy. and sometimes kids who are addicted to cartoons chanel everything out accept the tv and people try to talk to them and they just ignore you.

  4. I think a couple answerers are missing the point...

    From what I've read, any communication is good. I've heard of parents interacting with the scripting, like picking up the lines of another character and playing along.

    Act out what he says, to try and bring the words together with the meaning. I've heard reports of this actually really helping.

  5. Well at least the cartoons ARE  making him talk which is great! isnt it ?? Put on cartoons that actually teach him something good. Actual sentences, it might help ur childs vocabulary
