  1. hmm, i would wait for another year, as the level at rugby at your age is a big jump up 2 senior level i.e. 1XV

however if you think you could then go for it, but i would adise you to wait another year or so

  2. Yeah ,you should go for it.Reach for the stars and don't hold back.

My younger brother was in the same situation as you when we were going to school, big for his age.I told him he didn't have a hope in h**l of getting into the 1st fifteen.(school roll of 2000+).He had never played serious rugby at all thru any of the junior grades..(unlike myself and my older brother)

Guess what...he got in and was in the team for 4yrs.

For 2yrs me and my 2 brothers played for the first fifteen.

    So JUST DO IT

    cheers and all the best.

  3. go for it but if you can only bench 75 then you shouldnt consider yourself strong...

hahaha just kidding go for it im 15 and i have been playin since i was 12 and i sucked but now im pretty good its all practice...just join and get better

eventually you will play man go for it ....

but im heavier so i play scrum half or prop..

  4. h**l yeah go for it...

  5. You should definitely give it a shot.  You seem like a little tike, but you could play on the wing, and regardless of whether you make first XV, you'll learn alot from any tryout.

  6. At 14 i wouldn't go for the 1st team yet, unless your school is a developing school. Go to the try outs but I would be suprised if you made the starting XV, has your school got a 2nd XV or a U15s side that you could try out for, atleast this way you could work your way up rather than going to play with the big boys and loosing all your confidence.

  7. Of course you should... just do it.

  8. You're a 110 kg 14 year old  that hasn't played for a long time ?

    I'm a flying pig !

  9. Join in for training sessions...

Contrary to belief, rugby is more about technique that pure strength.. I've seen scrum halfs clear out No.8s with the right technique.
