  1. if the neighbor is the school then sure, if not then no

  2. What kid and where?  Every situation is different, don't push for another big brother law to punish the rest of us because a kid you know isn't capable of doing what another kid is..please.

  3. no i wouldnt let him if i were you..its just well risky im not saying something bad will happen but just incase

  4. i think it depends on how far the school is from your home. if its more than a few blocks then no, there are crazy people out there

  5. well yes if the aria is safe i walk home by my self cause my house is just across the street

  6. No, he shouldn't.  As sad as that sounds, the world today is crazy and you shouldn't take the risk.

  7. My 10 year-old son can.  It's only a 160 foot walk to school from his bedroom.

    ...He's homeschooled...

You asked this in the homeschooling section.

  8. nop

  9. how far is the walk?  Most likely the answer is no.  10 year olds are not responsible enought to keep their room clean, much less keep their lives out of danger!

  10. No how far is it if its just acroos the road or like right right down the road maybee

  11. OMG NEVER! No one is safe these days incl adults...

  12. not but theres millions of kids that do

  13. No, there are a lot of sickos who prey on young kids who walk home from school.

  14. NO!

Not in this day and age--never ever never!

  15. no i think the youngest should be thirteen

  16. no, its definitely not a good idea. this generation is so dangerous

  17. Probably depends on the distance, the danger and the ability of your son.  Some places you ought to go get him even if it is just across the street. I walked or rode a bicycle 2 1/2 miles from the time I was in junior high through high school.  We lived rurally.

  18. no. i sugest that you do not let your child walk home from school by himself.  At that age he still needs a guardian. Either if you live in a safe neighborhood or a dangerous neighborhood you should not let your child walk to school by himself at least until hes 12. You never know what can happen. Its always better to be safe than sorry.

  19. Yeah, I started walking home from school by myself when I was 10 and it took me 15 minutes to walk home.  I guess it depends where you live and how far from the school you are.

  20. No, No, No, too many of our children are missing because parent's don't think it will happen to their child. It's just not safe. Remember there's safety in numbers.

  21. No

  22. i depends on how far away u live from the school. if its only a block or 2 i think it would be ok but if its farther i would say no.:)

  23. If you have to ask that question, then the answer is no........

  24. Sure, unless it is over a mile away or a high crime area.

Contrary to popular belief, there aren't any more stranger abductions now than a generation ago.  There's just more media hype.

Kids need to be kids, and they need some freedom to do that.

    :D

  25. It depends on the neighborhood, how many other kids are around, how reliable the 10 year old is, how far the home is from the school.

  26. Depends on where he lives, how far from the school, etc. If you live in a small town where nothing happens, why not? If you live in a big city and practically just across the street from the school, why not? If there is more potential danger present, then no.

  27. If it is not even half a block away, than yes
