Should 13 and 14 year old kids have babies?

  1. No they should not, apart from the fact that they are not physically prepared to have a baby at that age, they are not mentally prepared either. Research has shown that kids who have babies at that age tend to surf from severe postpartum depression and have frequent nervous breakdowns. Apart from the financial and physical stress, who would really want to do that to themselves? While their friends are going out and having a good time you have to stay home and take care of a child. and hearing constant screaming and having to feed and change diapers can take a toll on an adult much less a child. However due to today's socialization it is now felt that its fine. to have children at an early age and celebrities like Jamie Lynne Spears set a bad example for upcoming teenagers.

  5. it depends on the person and the family. I know a family that had 2 generations of teen pregnancy. my friends mother had her when she was 14. my frined grew up went to school graduated from high school and then from college. she had a daughter at 15 her daughter went to school and just last year graduated from UNCG and is now going back to school for her masters she (my firends daughter)is 22 with no children but that is because she doesn't want any at all. her family is a family of strength and they are very close knit. they have family meetings and everything to make sure everyone stays on track. but i can also honestly say that that is not the norm but you can't put everyone in the same catagory either. some people have the maturity and some don't. some have the family support and many don't, and some have the finances where some don't.

       The part of the brain which controls the difference between reasoning right and wrong has not completed developed by this age....just because your body "can" have a baby does not mean it should!!!

  7. NO but sadly it happens for whatever reasons. Everyone knows no 12,13,14 yr old needs to be out flautin' her c**p around everywhere, but they do for whatever reason, rather it be from parents havin them do it for money or the parents not being there at all and the children doing whatever they want. Unfortunately it happens. and instead of them giving the baby of which they can't in anyway provide for to a nice stable family they act all stupid and are all i can't give my baby away and  no one can take care of my baby like me and bla blah bla.  however, they can't afford food, diapers, or clothes and end up 98% of the time on welfare.  NOW HOWEVER sometimes the ppl manage and the children are raised normally/

  8. Well, no, I do not think that kids that young should be having s*x or getting pregnant. But the truth is that some do make mistakes  and end up pregnant. Me, I got pregnant at the age of 15 1/2 and had my son when I was 16. If I could go back in time, I would have wished my mother talked to me about s*x instead of just telling me it was "a sin to have s*x", which i heard so much I just threw it out the window. I wish I would have waited till I was married, and at least at a better age, because it took away my teenage years. But I wanted to be a good mom and give my son a good life, so I graduated high school on time and am currently going to school to become a speech language pathologist. I dont regret having my son, just at the time and place i did in life...Its best to not have a child so young, although it can be done just to give those who are in my shoes hope!

    Would you seriously take your daughter to a doctor where they would mutilate her body where she'd have no sexual pleasure in her life and then stitch her up and make it near impossible for urine to pass through?

  15. Young teenagers in modern society are not prepared in most cases to have babies.

    In ancient times, a woman was declared marriageable when she started her periods.  She moved in with her husband's family who supported them and had children as soon as she could. Life was short and very difficult.  Having children as soon as possible was essential for survival.

    In today's world, a young teenager has little education, no means of support, can't drive or hold a job, and is still legally a minor.  

    Instead of having a carefree, happy childhood and focusing on his/her education, a young teenager with a baby is forced into an adult role without the tools and maturity needed to be a success.

    Nobody is advocating for 13 and 14 y/o's to go out and get pregnant. BUT, when it happens, it doesn't mean that the two should be separated JUST BECAUSE they're 13 y/o.

    The infant still needs his/her mother regardless of the age of the parent. Infants have no barriers on the age of parents. All they know is their mother, they need their mothers, they love their mothers and shouldn't lose their mothers simply due to age.

  21. No, absolutely not.  But, yes, unfortunately it happens sometimes.

    If they get pregnant that young then one can only assume that THEIR parents are unfit and they should be removed immediately and placed in foster care.

  23. well like most people have said, in an ideal world then no.

    Thats just kids having kids and its all wrong. I am only 24, and I cant even remember thinking about boys at that age never mind s*x! Generations have changed and people dont have control of their kids anymore. In an old fashioned way, kids would be made to get rid of the pegnancy, but in these modern times, you see kids pushing their kids around.

    I dont think that their is a right or wrong to this. I dont think anyone should make the child keep a baby! The child will loose their childhood. Kids of that age dont know much about life.

    On the other hand, if their is parent control, then the child wouldnt be on their own.

    I am definatly against making them keep a baby.

    youths especially under 16 don't know themselves yet, and are not able to understand a little one. youngin that young can't evern get a stable job and hold down school, let alone even partly raise a baby! the Girls parents are going to raise the baby.  and the babies Father is going to be off playing football doin his own thing. the realtionship between the babies parents will demolish and the girl would have a horrible life growing up.

    girls, usually start having their period around that age.... Good grief let them get use to that first!!!

  29. if u r that age u should not be having babies. that is too early to be having another responsibilities. it would change how u r and not let u be a kid anymore so enjoy the years that u r a kid and don't have children when u r that age.
