  1. NOBODY should be talking on a cell phone when there driving.Driving is a full time job that requires you full undivided attention. If you can't do that you do not belong behind the wheel.

  2. The answer is no for many of the aforementioned reasons. A 16 year old does not have the developed skills yet for driving, so distracted driving is out of the question. There are people out there who can't walk and chew gum at the same time. Do you want to have someone like this driving a car and coming at you while yakking on the phone? I don't, thats for sure.

  3. No, they shouldn't. I hate to say, but I've seen drivers drinking a beer, and paying more attention to the road, than people on cell phones.

  4. Go to the AAA web site and that of the major car insurance companies.  They are bound to have results of their research suggesting that:

--young drivers, by virtue of having little practical experience are more likely to have accidents than people who are adults, simply because they are not well acquainted with the limits of their car's operation and the sometimes erratic behavior of other drivers.

--young drivers are more likely to be distracted by conversation, whether it is on a cell phone or another teenager in the car, and research shows that a distracted driver is more likely to have an accident

--anyone, of any age, talking on a cell phone has about the same likelihood of having an accident as a person who has been drinking.

--therefore, when you combine the inexperience of teenage drivers WITH talking on cell phones, the statistical chance of an accident goes up exponentially

This is why some states are mandating additional limits on drivers 16-18 year old.  Depending on the state, here are some of the limits:

--teens cannot use a cell phone while driving,

--teens cannot drive after midnight unless driving to or from a job,

--teens cannot drive with more than one other teen in the car, unless they are siblings, etc.

The goal is not to limit teens personal freedoms, the goal is public safety.  We want teens to not have accidents, not get injured, not injure other people, not damage cars and other property.  We want to them to grow up healthy and productive, and live long enough to come round and see the parents when they are old.

So you can see, the reasons are purely selfish.

  5. Its not fair to me. I am deaf. I will not answer the phone or text.

If you need to answer. Take your car on shoulder of road or find a parking place or safe to park. and stop. Then answer the phone.

When you talk on phone. You cannot concrete on the road. Your mind is talking to the phone.

In Rochester, NY. There five fairport teenager girls was killed in auto accident.  Few days after Graduated at High school. They was playing with Text messages.

  6. Nobody should be talking on the phone while driving (i'm guilty though).  Look up the stats for cell phone related car accidents among teens (even adults).  Supposedly using a cell phone is worse than driving drunk.  Don't get too statistical in your speech becuase, after all it is a speech, and not a math class.  But the stats will hit the listeners right between the eyes and it'd be a very persuasive speech.

  7. No one should be talking on a cell phone while driving.  I would stress that and that operating a vehicle requires all your attention. You need to pay attention to what you are doing, and what the other motorists are doing.  It only takes a split second to lose your life in an accident or to cause someone else to lose theirs.

  8. they're like monkeys with guns

  9. Put in there all the reasons YOU think they shouldn't be able to talk and drive. You said you don't think they should so give your reasons why. Not enuf driving experience, too much distraction, etc. You sound young so you should know better than someone older what goes on in a persons mind these days.

  10. No a teenage should talk on a cell. same with an adult.

  11. It would be very dangerous for a 16 year old to be talking on a cell phone while they are driving.  Here are a couple of different reasons...1) It is illegal in some areas to "talk" and drive at the same time. 2) A 16 year old is a very inexperienced driver, and would end up paying more attention to the phone than to the road.  I don't know if it will help in your report, but my personal opinion on the matter is that no-one should be on their cell phones while in motion in a vehicle except for possibly a completely hands free set

  12. Excellent essay topic...

    No they SHOULD NOT

    Turn on the TV

Your teacher is a lazy git

  13. Do your own homework.

  14. No one should be on a cell phone when driving, especially holding it to there ear with one hand.

Both hands are suppose to be on the wheel at all times.

And you should be focused on navagating traffic not talking on the cell phone , holding us up at the traffic lights, cause there not paying attention to the road.

It's against the Law in some states.

And why they hold them to there ear? I don't know.

    Most phones have external speakers.

  15. The primary responsibility of the driver is to operate a motor vehicle safely.

The task of driving requires full attention and focus. Cell phone use can distract drivers from this task, risking harm to themselves and others.

Therefore, the safest course of action is to refrain from using a cell phone while driving.

Driver distraction from all sources contributes to 25% of all police-reported traffic crashes.

  16. Absolutely not.

  17. NO!!! 16 year olds barely know the rules of the road or where the blinker is . . . they are not experienced enough to talk on the phone!

  18. they can as long as they pull over
