It would need to take off so much more around the world before it would even remotley be considered for an olympic spot...there would be the main nations plus a handful of other countries that noone would give a toss about...it has potential but its not there yet.

Very good question. Cricket is not so popular in the modern world . To make it popular ICC has taken steps to promote cricket to the world . The first step was appointing cricket specialist to send them to the non-cricket playing countries and promote cricket . After it get popular it could be in the olympics. Its a very good suggestion by Adam Gilchrist. It should be in the olympics.
