  1. Houston wouldn't take him... they have Matt Shaub and Sage Rosenfels, and the coach likes BOTH of them!  You'd think the Bears might want to inquire about him, given their QB situation, but it's a tough call.  Regardless of who takes him, I bet nobody would give up more than a 3rd round pick, or one of those conditional picks like there was in the Favre deal.  Smith would have to take a paycut, as well... at least until he proves he's worth what he's currently gettin paid.

More than likely, the Niners will have a new coach next year (cause we all know how this season is gonna go) and that guy will give him a chance, at least until the June 1st no-salary-cap-penalty deadline.  Or they'll try to get something for him before the draft, depending on how the QB's look that are gonna go pro.

If this all sounds familiar, it's cause it is.  This happens so much in the NFL....

  2. They should, BUT WILL NOT BECAUSE OF THE SALARY CAP HIT THEY WOULD HAVE TO TAKE. They will have to cut him after the season and take the hit next year on the cap. Next year, he is lined up for 12 million if on the roster by april 1.

  3. No way he is the kind of guy u draft 1st overall to be a 3rd string guy he is a key component to the year of horrible 49er play keep him...lol

  4. maybe give him another season
