  1. he doesnt get a choice

  2. A couple years ago Aker said he wanted to be part of the Lions leadership group.  This week he was dumped from the team by the Lions leadership group for his 50 metre penalty indescretions.  The dumping came from that group and not from the coach.  If Aker wants to be in a leadership group and play his best football he does have to move to another club and get a fresh start.  His chance to be a leader at the Lions appears to have slipped away.

  3. yes

  4. Yeah, the Saints should sign him up, they need a player like him

  5. If they can't sort out their problems. He would be a loss for two reasons. Firstly, he is a great player having won a Brownlow medal and two club best and fairests including one last year. Secondly, he is a personality player and the Brisbane Lions are still competing in a strong rugby state and city. While they have been very successful, they need to maintain a high profile. Having said that, he needs to comply with team rules.

Bob Skilton has said that he would be welcome at the Swans and would be welcome at most clubs. He would certainly be welcome at the Kangaroos.

  6. DO YOU????

    NOT ME.

  7. I think that for Akermanis to be acting the way he has done he is not a happy fellow. Hopefully this move by the club will help him to see his ways and perhaps search for help or a way to cope with them. I'm not a Lions supporter, but I don't think they'd be the same without him, so hopefully he'll get his sh*it together and he'll stay with the club.

  8. Yes. I say this for a number of reasons:

    1. The coach has been treating him like a dirtbag all along. Those two have not been friends since day 1.

    2. His confidence has slumped because of the club's peformance, and the way managemnent have approached him.

A player who is not speaking to a coach and that player's confidence has dropped should leave the club.

  9. i dont think he should but the way the lions have been playing lately, he may as well try a new team if the money is better.

  10. I do like him and I'm sure Carlton (my team) would love to have him. But i don;t think it will happen.

  11. Ultimately this is just a media hype that will settle down eventually. Aker would walk (even on his hands) into any other AFL club and thus the Lions won't let him go unless things get much much worse. Personalities like Aker are important to the game otherwise they'd all be robots!

  12. I think ANY side would like to have him, ( well all of those in the bottom 8 at least )
