The vast majority of scientists (and a British court) say he got the basics right.  Those are:

Global warming is real, mostly caused by us, a serious problem, and capable of being solved by us.

There were a few minor things that are questionable about specifics like Mt. Kilimanjaro, or polar bears.  But, basically, he's right.  The Nobel Prize Committee members are not stupid.

Not at all, he deserves everything he gets. He brought Global Warming into our homes. And for those of you who don't know this, he donates all of his movie $ on green projects,his house is probably more efficient than yours, and not sure if this is true, but I heard he drives around in a bio-diesel bus. I'd be happy seeing him made a fool out of.  Wait, most people with even a blip of intelligence already think he's a fool. So, watching him eat his words would be very pleasing.

That being said, if you watched "An Inconvenient Truth" and took it to be gospel, then you are just dumb.  Anyone who listens to a politician tell you something and believes what he says without questioning anything deserves to be lied to.

Don't believe everything you hear from Rush Limbaugh or on Fox News (or from your parents, if that's their source of information).

The vast majority of climate scientists around the world hold to the theory of anthropogenic global warming (AGW).  It's possible they are all wrong, but not very likely.  Virtually every major scientific organization in the world  has stated their agreement that AGW is real.  These include the National Academies of Science (from all the G8 nations), the American Meteorological Society, Royal (UK) Meteorological Society, American Geophysical Union, American Institute of Physics, Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society, European Geosciences Union, etc., etc., etc.

Now if you think you've studied the subject enough to know that all these groups are wrong, then you must be quite the genius.  If not, and you now realize maybe you overspoke and really haven't read enough on the subject to understand it, I'd encourage you to educate yourself.

He didn't lie about anything.  He just didn't show that he was using the data from the most extreme set of projections.  It is possible everything he said in that movie will happen if global temperatures rise by 8 or 9 degrees over the next century because we dont stabilize co2 levels in the atmosphere.  Nobody really knows what the impact will be on water vapor and cloud formation so the numbers are all over the spectrum.

I think they should take his awards away.  He lied, lied, lied.  Yeah yeah... hybrid cars, but how much does his energy bill cost per year?  At least 70,000 dollars.  He lied through his teeth.  How can you say we should stop global warming when he doesn't even try to help the world himself?
