Sarah Palin's husband belongs to a group that wants Alaskan independence. Wouldn't the party of Lincoln consider this treason?

  1. I don't have a problem with it, but then, I used to belong to a group that advocated Texas secession.

EDIT, y'all do realize the group was a tongue and cheek kind of thing, not a serious political movement, the Texas one that is.

  2. haha that is probaly not true otherwise his wife wouldnt be running for president and it would be on the front page of yahoo lol

  3. Alaska is a barren wasteland of c**p, I'd actually welcome their secession from the U.S.

  4. Alaska was bought by the Federal government from Russia in 1867.

Alaska was Russian territory for a hundred years. The name Alaska is Russian, which is derived from an Aleut word alaxsxaq.

Alaska cannot really secede from the US, since the majority of the land is owned by the Federal government...mainly because the Federal government owned all the land after the purchase.

Alaskans can take their private land and secede, but without the Federal land, they wouldn't have jobs or money.

  5. If Obama gets elected, they should offer it to all the states.

They should change the name to the SRNA Socialist Republic of North America.  There would be no use in trying to pretend it's the United States anymore.

  6. Only if The Keys in Florida can...and then apply for foreign aid...

  7. But you're talking about the republicans VP pick.....you know she loves america, right?

    OBAMA/BIDEN 08

  8. j'accuse! Treason! They plot against their own country! Julius and Ethel Rosenburg did less than this.

  9. Only if Palin agrees to go back and be their president.

  10. The United States was formed after breaking away from the rule of England, or seceding if you will.  So how can a country formed by secession refuse to allow a state to secede if the majority of that state want to?

  11. Its a lie. Just like many other rumors going around the net regarding her and  her family.

  12. Sure why not, then maybe this entire "lets not drill c**p" can finally be done and over. In the end, Alaska has not really contributed much to the US's federal economy since its inception. (aside from ice water game fishing and polar bear exhibits).

I would say its high time for them to start contributing in some manner.

By doing so, it would only be a matter of time before all h**l broke lose and they would be begging to be unionized in the US again. (FYI for all those whom believe states should have total freedom from a federal government..... this is a part of the constitution which is "the checks and balance" system. Without it, many states would simply become facists entities with ridiculous methods of funding in place.)

Face it republicans.... YOU NEED THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT! So do yourselves a favor, quit whining and focus on the REAL problems of this country. (like the fact that Russia is gaining strength again and will soon rejoin North Korea, China, and soon enough Iran as the worlds communists superpowers.)

  13. You are miss stating their goals. The party he belongs to wants Independence from the US government in the form of total control over Alaska's land. They think (and I agree) that states should have the right to do with state land whatever they want to do with it. They feel that the federal government shouldn't be allowed to tell them what they can and can't do with it.

Please, get the facts right before you spew and look like an idiot.
