Should American citizens be able to see, do, and know what our goverment does???

I think there are some things that the government should keep secret because they can develop into a huge panic.

No. There are some things only George W. Bush should know.  After all, he is the decider; and if you allowed the people to know and make decisions, then what would be left for Bush to do?  Trust George W.:  War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery.

i think they souldnt keep MOST stuff a secret because... well it kinda screws up the whole "freedom" thing. but ya for the stuff that will make a big panic over they sould at least downsize it kinda

Yes.  All citizens should be informed.  All major decisions should be in thee hands of th people, with the day-to-day running in the hands of elected and  other officials.  For example the Principe of many major policies should be voted on in a referendum, With ALL info being shared, such as the Iraq War, and the workings left to Government and Parliament / elected Assembly.

We are people. Not idiots. We can Think,with little panic IF WE KNOW ALL THE INFO.

yes they should...So we can prepare our self and not depend on the government.. I believe Bush already told us to be prepared for dissasters and not depend on the govt. during the hurricane in Louisanna.If you choose to stay in the dark that is fine..We voted them in,they should represent our views.A secret is HIDDEN FACTS.Do you pay taxes..We are intitled to know what goes on in our country and be involv ed in making the decisions..If one group gets together making decisions who knows what there views are? We need to stay informed so we can express our opinion...

It really depends on what we are talking about. Some of the things the government is hiding is best be hidden or else there would be mass panic just like you said. Other things such as what's happening to the trillions of dollars that dissappear every year we should all know about.

Other than military things I don't think anything should be kept secret because then all Govt. has to do is everytime they s***w something up is say that it's secret.

They already have so much stuff going on that makes life harder on us.

hmmm.  well i think our government is already pretty transparant. but i think our government needs to be a lot more transparant that what it is now.  of course there are a need for secrets.   think of the production of our stealth fighters during the cold war.  they governmnet had to keep them a secret even after they were finished developing so the soviet union wouldnt know.  so its really a case by case issue on whether it should be kept secret or not.
