A friend of mine told me that this is what some Americans do when they are there. Should American tourists be encouraged to wear the Maple Leaf when they are there or anywhere else in the world?

  1.   OMG get a grip every country has rude pain in the rear people.  Travel a little and you will find out people hate the frech, canadians, americans......Just hold your head up and show that YOU are a good traveler.  Canadians are just the other rude north americans

  2. Haha no! Take pride in your own country, not another one. I've been to Europe three times (Netherlands and France) and everyone was always nice, even when i said "sorry i only speak English". They always figured I was American anyway, and when I confirmed I was they always seemed interested and friendly. Europeans don't tend to like Bush very much though, but they aren't at all ignorant and won't assume you agree with him. Anyway, the only time i've ever heard of an American pretending to be a Canadian is if they were backpacking across Europe and they'll be there for awhile and don't want any trouble.

  3. I've always found that people are really friendly when I tell them I am from California (I am from California).  Sometimes saying the US they aren't as friendly.

  4. It's easy enough to spot/hear americans anyway so no.
