  1. I think it is worth the risk for Spider to take those two guys on eventually (especially Chuck).

That said, Silva has said that he is, first and foremost, dedicated to protecting the 185 weight class....and Im hoping George St Pierre moves up to fight Silva first.  THAT is my dream match.

  2. Didn't Anderson say he wasn't staying at 205 but going back to 185?

To jinglehimer36, Cung Le and Silva would be a great match! Lots of people are interested in this even though they are part of different organizations (UFC and Strikeforce). Scary though, because I train at Le's gym and I don't want my coach to lose (not that I think he would lose)!

  3. If Anderson Silva destroys Cote in his next fight, and destroys Okami when he heals up, I think we could see him at 205 again.  He wouldn't be giving much weight up to Liddell or Rampage.

*Too bad they can't get Cung Le to fight Anderson.

  4. if he wants to live up to Dana's claim of P4P....i think a better claim would be Best middleweight in the world....

ZB, GSP V. Silva would be awesome to watch.......

  5. Rampage wont be fighting anyone for a while....as for Chuck, they're setting him up to beat Rashad, then fight Forrest for the title. Win or lose, Chuck will probably hang up the old gloves pretty soon. The only way him and A. Silva will fight is if it's a personal favor asked of them by Dana White. The fight won't really make sense any other way.

  6. For this question you will have to look at it from a business standpoint, This is a card that i think Dana will hold off on right now, The Hype on Silva is just that he seems unbeatable and with that very marketable. It would be dangerous for Silva to fight this from the business end. As a fan and practitioner I would love it. Not saying it isnt going to happen but I think the UFC will hold that till it needs it, there is alot of rumblings in the MMA world after the successfull affliction PPV so keep your ears peeled. Dana is smarter than most give him credit for he will pull the trigger when he most needs it.

  7. he needs to fight gsp first, i think before he jumps up to 205 , i think with time to gain muscle and keep his speed anderson could beat both guys

  8. I dont think Rampage will be fighting for a while, and I think Liddell is at more risk than Silva if they fought. I think Anderson Silva's next 205 fight will be Wandy Silva. You know Dana White loves both those guys and on paper thats a phenominaly entertaining fight. I know I would love to see it. I think he fights Cote at 185 before the end of the year and has one more defense at 185 and fights Wandy at 205 by the middle of next year, after that who knows.

I would also love to see him fight GSP at 185 but I dont think its that close to happening, I think GSP will fight BJ Penn at 170 some time next year, both those guys have plenty of worthy challengers in thier respective wieght classes. If Silva keeps winning at 205 and GSP beats BJ Penn and has some more succesful title defense's at 170, then maybe by the end of 09' they fight, after all if they both keep winning they have to fight at some point.

or maybe Patrick Cote and John Fitch could ruin it for eveyone...

  9. From Silva's perspective the only fight that is worth it, thinking of the famous risk-to-reward ratio, is to fight Forrest Griffin for the title, I don't think that it will happen anytime soon, but Silva's aura of invincibility could be broken loosing a fight against any other opponent and it is not worth it (again think it over from the Silva and team perspective),,, now, if by risking your public image a second time around you could end up with two belts simultaneously and then give the fans a series of exciting fights against the lidells, GSP, Wanderleis of the world, THAT would be a great deal for everybody including Anderson Silva...

    GO MMA ,,,, Take care

  10. He should absolutely fight them. I think he needs to beat a few more LHW mid level fighters before he faces them though. Some one like Jardine or Evans. They are very good fighters, but not the level of Liddell or Rampage. I know Jardine beat Liddell, but Chuck was unprepared for the fight and didn't follow any type of a game plan. Silva fighting higher level LHW competition would be great for him and the UFC. There is no competition left for him at 185. As for him fighting GSP, I agree that would be great, but I don't think GSP would have any chance of handling Silva's size or strength. Don't think that would be a good fight for GSP to take.
