Question:

Should Andre Iguodala be in the USA team

He brings that young athlethic body and he can shoot better than James, ( lebron is still better) but I thought Andre should have been in the USA team instead of prince. Prince can defend but lacks that offensive explovieness.Plus the USA team is loaded with defense they need a guy like andre that comes of the bench for lebron and brings the same offensive moves.

Andre likes to attack the rim a lot.

So should prince get kicked out and andre put in?

  1. How can Iguodala shoot better than LeBron? Iguodala cant create his own shots. He is extremely athletic and gifted, but Team USA doesn't need that. They need team players and that work hard and play defense. Tayshaun Prince is the epitome of that.

  2. The 76ers, in the 08 season, had the worst 3-point shooting team.

Iguodala basically is the 76ers. He creates the shots, he inspires the team. Heck, many people didn't even know him until the 08 season when he almost took down the Pistons @ the palace.

Should Prince get kicked out and Andre put in? Possibly. But to tell you the truth, either way, Andre is going to get the same number of minutes Prince got. Approximately 6 mins a game, not very effective, especially if you're not much of a 3-shooter. Prince is definetely the better shooter, and once he gets put in the game, he can make his few mins affective.

No, Prince should stay in Team USA.

  3. Should your mom be on the team? ooooooooooo

  4. no you have plenty of offense on that team. sometimes you need a shutdown defender.

  5. No

  6. Since Shane Battier is not in the roster and with only 3 true post players available, Tayshaun Prince is a must-have in TEAM USA (so is Michael Redd) because he is the specialist for defending any opposing go-to guy upfront - this is an obvious tactical decision that can be easily identified.

Prince lacks of offensive explosiveness? Ask Kobe and LBJ if they will solely treat him as a hard-nose defender, and their answer must be a definite NO.

Iggy should be in TEAM USA in future thanks to his versatility, but I would say LBJ and Iggy are close in pure shooting.

Most importantly, without sturdy defense, TEAM USA has a better chance to ruin rather than win the gold medal - still remember what happened in friendly vs. Australia?

  7. no, prince is way better defense and has some good offense, its not tht explosive but its still pretty good offensive skills. igoudala shouldnt b on the team

  8. no. too young

  9. Look, they invited players to make a three year commitment three years ago. Some weren't good enough back then, and some didn't, or couldn't, make the commitment. We don't just throw the best twelve US players together for two months anymore. We did that in 04 and lost.

EVERYONE on Team USA has a young, athletic body. Iggy can't shoot better than LeBron anyway. Prince got on the team because of defense AND the fact that he can play the international power forward on a team already lacking big men. Team USA most definitely ISN'T loaded with defense. Kobe, Wade and Prince are the only great defensive players on the team. Iggy's defense isn't any better than most of the other guys. Yes he does have the same moves of LeBron, but that isn't always a good this because he doesn't have the physical dominance to execute them as well. They already have a player who ikes to attack the rim a lot, and does it better than Iggy. His name is Dwyane Wade. At this point, the roster has been named and players are irreplaceable by Olympic rules.

Besides, you could make a lot better arguments than that for replacing players. K.G. or Amare Stoudemire for Boozer, Josh Smith or Shawn Marion for Tayshaun, etc.

  10. I don't think so. The US team does not need any more scorers or athletic players, they have too many of them already. What it needs are defensive specialists who could shut down opponents especially when playing the zone. Prince is quite suited for that, more than Iguodala.

  11. Its too late now...dont you think? But anyway, the answer is NO. Tayshaun is an excellent defender, and i remember defence as a huge problem back in Athens in 2004. Carmelo Anthony and Lebron provide the offence, Tayshaun provides defence. If anything, i want to see more power forwards and centers for 2012

  12. If he's not there then no he doesn't!!
