And what would be your 17 players(to play for the Australian team) if you were not restricted to just players in the NRL?

example;would you pick Matt King?Micheal Crocker, who is going overseas next season?

  1. It's already happened.

Qld selected Alfie Langer when he was playing in England

  2. I think the rule should stay however coaches and selectors these days are not bothering about selecting overseas players for the rep games.

In the Allan Langer case i think that was a decision down to the fact that queensland had no other halfback at the time. At the moment if say thrusto went to england and was still considered a better h/b i dont think he should be considered.

What we should realise is state of origin and playing for aus means selecting boys from the NRL competition.

I dont no y jamie lyon was selected for aus a couple years back b4 starting with manly as we had an adumdance of talent in the centres like Hodgo, tate, inglis, coops, gaz, tonga and many more.

The rule should stay for last resort options but thats about it. if i could pick a team with overseas players in consideration i dont think i would pick any of them. We still have many forwards and backs in key positions to win. the depth of aussie players will always remain strong i mean we could play wesser at fullback cronk at half anasta a 5/8 and many other people who are not considered the best in the game at their position however still have great skills not disrespect to any of them.

  3. i dont think they should be aloud to play.. they are not in the nrl any more and i think that they should pick players from that.

  4. i dont think they should because they have left the nrl, and have chosen to continue their career elsewhere. If u were allowed to play rugby league in england and still play state of origin and tests it would e slack to the players of the nrl!

If u choose to go to england, u shouldnt be allowed to come to aus to play rep football. That is the disadvantage of goin 2 england & the NRL isnt happy wit da number of ppl goin to uk!

  5. No I wouldn't allow players from outside the NRL the privilege of playing rep footy.  If they leave the league they're out!!  Otherwise you end with a team of Harry Kewell's who carry on like they're doing OZ a favour.

  6. I dont think they should, but they are.

  7. I think they should cause now that all the high profile people are going over seas. And my Australian team would be

                               1.  Billy Slater

                               2.  Isreal Folua

                               3. Justin Hodges

                               4. Greg Inglis

                               5. Kurt Gidley

                               6. Darren Lockyer (If hes not fit Jonathan Thurston)

                               7. Scott Prince

                               8. Petro Ciniceavor

                               9. Cam Smith

                               10. Steve Price

                               11. Paul Gallen

                               12. Ryan Hoffman

                               13. Michael Croker

                               14. Sam Thaiday

                                15. Willie Mason

                               16. Anthony Tupou

                                17.Kar Michael Hunt

  8. No they shouldn't be picked. Technically they can play for Australia the selectors just don't pick them as it's too hard to monitor form for on reason and the second reason is that playing rep football is he only thing that keeps some players in the NRL, if they picked overseas players half the NRL would leave.

  9. players who chose money and play o/s should not be picked for country or state

  10. If the game allows for players to play overseas and still represent Australia and NSW/QLD then the game in Australia will become second rate. Already the game struggles to keep it's top players here because of the money offered overseas. If players can play overseas and still play origin you will see majority of the top players chasing the money in England.

I say No Way. If the player chooses to go then good luck to them, but no way should they be able to come back for a one off game or series.

  11. umm...ur first question...alfie langer did it for origin.

  12. Of course they should be allowed to play for Australia and even origin. Every other sport in the country lets there overseas players play for their country. If we didn't let our soccer players that are playing overseas play for Australia we wouldn't have made it to the World cup. cricket players play overseas in the off season, I'm not sure about the rugby union.

Just because a player goes overseas to play doesn't make them any less Australian or any less worthy of playing for their country.

  13. no definetly not!!!!!!!!
