  3. I think if the Bali bombing had not occurred with a loss of so many Australian lives, then Australia would not be involved either in Iraq or Afghanistan. But, that terrorist attack brought home to everyone, from Darwin to Hobart, the reality of a group called Jemma Islamiya whose ideals and goals are identical to that of Al Queda. Both groups of hirabah (terrorists) have to be found and eliminated, no matter where they hide on this planet. As an American, I'm very thankful that Australia is involved in that hunt.

  4. Australian soldiers got involved in the Vietnam conflict as well.

    Whenever the USA wants to start a war with a country, they always ask Britain and other British Commonwealth countries like Australia and Canada to get involved.

    Unfortunately, the people from those countries don't always want to get involved in another country's problems.
