Should Barack Obama fear for his life, should we go after the KKK?

I would like to say that this is shocking story about the men arrested who were plotting to assassinate Obama during the Democratic Convention. If you haven't heard about it, go to this page:

Although the threat wasn't "credible", that doesn't mean these men are the only ones who want him dead.

So my first question is, should Obama fear for his life? People have often said, including entertainers such as Dave Chappelle, that you don't want to be the "first" black president.

Now I am all for free speech. If the KKK or other white supremacist groups hate every other race or religion, let them. HOWEVER this attempted plot is an act of TERRORISM. This country is all about fighting terrorism, that why we went to Afghanistan and Iraq.

So why not go after the KKK? After all it sounds like its one of their people. Should we be going after the KKK or any other white supremacy groups and bring them to justice to prevent an assassination? What are your thoughts?

  1. Why not just pass more gun control? That would solve the entire problem according to Obama and the other leftists.

  2. The Skinheads want his butt too.

  3. Senator Robert Byrd (DEMOCRAT, W. Virginia) is a member of the KKK.

Lest anyone forget, the KKK was begun by white male DEMOCRATS.

No, of course we can't go after the KKK.  There isn't any way to tie these guys into the KKK or a specific chapter of it.  There are any number of other groups who are against America having a black president.  We'd have to go after all of them.

Is Obama's life in danger?  You know, there are attempts on every president, and plots to make attempts, and hotheads who talk about making plots.  How about John Hinckley, who attempted to kill President Reagan as a means to get the attention of actress Jodie Foster?

Yes, I think his life is probably in some danger, but no more so than any other candidate's.  He just has some potential threats coming from other directions.

I think he's more in danger from people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, who could really line their pockets with money if Obama were to be assassinated.  They would turn him into a martyr and the money would flow into their coffers.  Most of it would stay right with them, too.

  4. Every American president has had to fear for their lives.

  5. I read the whole article.  It said absolutely nothing about the suspects being members of the KKK or any other white supremacist group.  If these people were going to make an attempt on Obama's life it would not be an act of terrorism.  It would be an act of attempted murder.  We cannot and we should not seek to bring people to justice who have committed no crime.  We cannot prevent an assassination by our government harassing people.  I don't even want them to think about it.  Do you really want the government to become the thought police.  Maybe you have someone you hate and you say mean things about him, would you want to be arrested because you might do something to him?  This is what you seem to be advocating the police should do in this case.  Do not over react.  I think just about all modern presidents have been threatened with assassination but only two have been shot and just one died.

  6. Obama is most likely going to have many attempts on his life.  There is major controversy surrounding the fact of having a black president.  White supremacists will go after him.  He has received warnings from people and been told he has a hard time ahead of him.  One of the congressmen even said that he believed that somebody in the government could go rogue and kill him.

I'm not saying any of this is going to happen and i don't want to have a federal offense against me, but he is going to have many problems if elected.

  7. Yes he should, but not from the KKK. More likely the Russian mob or the other mob. They really aren't too keen on him being around.
