Should Barcelona break the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bank-c38601 for Cesc Fabregas? – La Liga
Winners of the UEFA Champions League, winners of the Spanish league, eight of their players won the FIFA World Cup with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/South-Africa-c757 in the summer of 2010; do Barcelona really need Cesc Fabregas? Or is their obsession
with the Spanish midfielder completed uncalled for? There are some well acknowledged facts in this transfer saga. Fabregas has time and again said that he wants to play for Barcelona; he has made it clear in the previous weeks by further elaborating on this
assumption by stating that it is his dream to play for the Catalan giants now.
Barcelona in return are also interested in buying their former youth academy product. Fabregas left Barcelona at just 16 years of age when he was offered a contract at Arsenal. The Catalan born playmaker took up the opportunity
to seek a career away from his childhood town but now the feeling of making a historic return back to his roots is influencing the Arsenal captain. However, this urge to return to Barcelona is also compounded by the barren trophy run that is currently in place
at Arsenal. Despite reaching the Carling Cup final in the 2010-2011 season, Arsenal failed to win any silverware once again.
Looking at Barcelona’s squad, it doesn’t look like that that they need a player like Fabregas. Where will the young Spanish midfielder play even if he is bought by the Catalan giants? Pep Guardiola won’t bench http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Xavi-Hernández-c37051 or
Andres Iniesta. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Busquets-c33048 won’t be taken out of the starting eleven as well as he offers something that Iniesta and Xavi don’t. He gives Barcelona that defensive solidity which they can build upon. However it is important to note that Pep Guardiola’s
squad is a very small one.
If Barcelona aspire to challenge on all fronts from the UEFA Champions League to the La Liga, then they will need impact making substitutes such as Cesc Fabregas. One also has to see this transfer saga keeping in light of Xavi
Hernandez’s remaining time as a first team footballer at Nou Camp. Barcelona’s most valued midfielder is currently 31 years old. Pep’s insistence on bringing Fabregas back to Barcelona is because he sees the Spanish playmaker as the only possible replacement
for Xavi, once the Barcelona man starts suffering from injuries and fatigue which become a norm in early 30s.
If http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 are demanding over 35
million pounds for their http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sandro-c32460 Rosell has already suggested that Barcelona’s evaluation of their transfer target is below 35 million pounds but he also made it clear that Barcelona are interested in signing the FIFA World Cup winner.
Thus a long summer transfer window now awaits both set of supports at Arsenal and at Barcelona. In the end it is quite likely that Barcelona will meet Arsenal’s demands because after all Cesc is under contract with the Gunners.
But what is clear is that Barcelona need to evolve and constantly improve if they want to retain at the top of European football, a failure to sign Fabregas won’t signal an immediate decline but his arrival will surely compensate one.
