Question:

Should Brett Favre have retired?

Any football fan should know that he wasn't ready to leave after last season, Green Bay pushed him out the door into retirement. This guy last year played the game like he was 24 years old again. Did Green Bay want to get Rodgers under center that badly and why? Also do you think Brett Favre should have told them at the end of last season that he wasn't retiring and if they wanted him out so bad then trade him?

  1. Personally, I think Brett should just go ahead and retire... I mean, he's not going to win a championship with ANY team no time soon.

  2. There's definitely something been goin' on behind the scenes at Green Bay.... why else would all of this be goin' down?

I'm not a Green Bay fan, by any means, but Favre is one h**l of a QB who still has some great games in him.  Old or not, he's way better than some of the young guns out there!

  3. dude he is to old

  4. For the eight millionth time...if Brett wants to play, then let him play. But if the Packers don't want him to be the starter, then trade him and get something like a draft pick back for him.

Sure, he's s******g the team over, but you can't blame him if he wants to play. Just trade him, end the problems swirling around your team, and move on.

  5. I don't care. Brett has been doing this for years now. I don't have any sympathy, "Boo hoo hoo, they made me retire" c**p. I just hope he doesn't land on my team.

  6. Yes he should have.  He's not going to win a championship ring anytime soon.  The guy is also pushing 40 and all those years of getting sacked, pushed, tackled, etc. will eventually take its toll on him.

He can't be in the NFL forever and I understand that he loves the game and loves to play but you eventually need to "get off the ride."

  7. Yeah, i'm not sure why he retired. Everybody knew this would not be official. They want Rodgers to be the guy of the future cause whether he likes it or not, Favre will eventually have to retire for real and this is the last year on Rodgers' contract and they probably wanted to see what he could do before deciding whether or keep him or trade him for next season. Plus, when Favre did retire, maybe he felt a little tired and worn down at the time. That's prob why he didn't ask for the trade. It all doesn't matter tho, everybody knew he would be the starting qb for the packers this year ever since he brought the team to the nfc championship game and come sept 7 he will be under center wearing number 4 and my Giants will smack him down again. ooh-raaa

  8. yes he is just messing up the rhythm in green bay

  9. NO! He shouldn't have retired. But he did. Nobody wanted him to retire but he did, so he should have stayed that way.

And nobody pushed Favre out the door, nobody pressured him. He's a grown man whose been in the league for 17 years, nobody pushed him out the door. Act like a man Favre.

he left because TT wouldnt do everything he wanted. I got news for you Favre, your job is QB, not GM. If you want to run a team, go become a GM, dont be mad because TT doesnt do everything you want. Sherman did everything Brett Favre asked, and only did what Favre wanted, and as I recall we didnt win during the Sherman years. Now Thompson is in and ignoring you and we're winning. SO SHUT THE F*CK UP FAVRE!

and so what if Thompson didn't get Randy Moss. We still went to the championship game where YOU threw the game ending interception. and as I recall, Moss didnt get a super bowl ring this year either.

and Diana Favre has always been a *****, ive seen it for years, glad to know everyone else sees it now too.

  10. Yeahhh...he's an old hag.

  11. Yes! Don't say you're going to retire then change your mind!

  12. I'm not really sure I see it like that.  CLEARLY he shouldn't have retired in retrospect, but he had to make the best decision for himself at the time.

After he mulled it over, he changed is mind... we all do that.

Look, I have no particular allegence to Farve, but you would be hard pressed to name a football player who love "the game" more than Brett.  GB handled this VERY badly.

  13. He was not ready to give up football..... he was just MAD because he did not win the superbowl.....now he crying to come back

  14. Yeah, he's s******g GB up so much he needs to not pull a Mitt Romney on us, just make up your mind and stick with it!

  15. Here is my thought, Brett screwed the team by changing his mind.  However the Packers are s******g themselves by not letting the best QB play for them.  The question is no longer should Brett retire, it's this:

Does Brett Favre give the Packers the best chance to win this year?

If the answer is yes keep him and start him!

If the answer is no, cut or trade him!

If the answer is I don't know, have an open QB competition for the job.

    It's not hard folks!

  16. NOOOOOOOOOOOO

    GO CUBS!

  17. Farve has been waffling on retirement for like 2 years now. If you ask me, he's a crybaby. He kept saying "Maybe I will, maybe I won't" without thinking about any of his teammates.

The team needs to get someone at QB and if Farve is gonna retire or sit around playing stupid games because he feels "disrespected" or whatever, they are doing the right thing by forgetting about Farve and trying to build for the future.

If Farve wants to play so bad, let him ask for a trade or waivers.
