Should Britain ban knives?

Even without guns, crime in Britain has skyrocketed. Knifings are extremely common now and there are thug chavs everywhere. Should the gov't ban knives like they did guns to stop knifings? In Canada you're not allowed to have concealed weapons, like knives, pepper spray, baseball bats, sticks, or anything else that can be considered a weapon. Canada's crime is skyrocketing just like Britains, but at least the gov't is starting to ban a bunch of stuff to stop the crime.

Even if our government banned knives, people who wants to do it will do it anyway. Legal or not.

i think if Police had the powers to stop people on the street and search them if they suspect something, and sentences for carrying knives is very strict and lengthy, such as 5 years in prison as a minimum, it may start to put people off  carrying such weapons, if they think they can be stopped, and prosecuted for it so easily.

people may say it's against human rights to be searched for no reason, but what about ther human rights of the people who are being stabbed. As a law abiding citizen, i would not mind being searched, i've got nothing to hide, so i would welcome it, if it makes our streets safer

Crime in Britain hasn't skyrocketed. It's consistently fallen.
