Should Canadian contractors, report school teachers working under the table?

  1. Many people, teachers included, work 'under the table'.  It's referred to as the 'underground economy'.  Yes, it is cheating the government out of taxes, etc. but in this day and age it is getting more common all the time.  It's probably the contractors themselves hiring people of all occupations and backgrounds to work for them at lower than normal wages to avoid paying workers comp., unemployment premiums, etc.  I'd just ignore it if I were you.  You may very well find yourself doing the same thing once you are out in the real world and away from your family home.  Cheers!!


  2. When someone works under the table, they are cheating not only the government, but also every person in Canada.

    Anyone working under the table should be reported by anyone who finds out they are.  It's called responsible citizenship.
