  1. yeah i think so, hes a perfect fit for it, hes done it before, and also i dont think there was anyone el;se to captain the side

  2. Definitely not fair, but life's not fair :)

It shouldn't have gone to him, being a first year player for the Blues. Who picks the leadership group there at Carlton? Whittnal captain, Gibbs in leadership group before he even plays and AFL game.

Although I must say he's got the experience. He's a premiership captain, they don't come around every day.

  3. I guess it does seem unfair because he hasn't even played a game for the blues yet. He is however the best player by a mile.

I was thinking, in the army, everytime they promote someone to officer they get moved to a different company. Maybe making judd captain is the best thing for carlton right now.

  4. I think it is disrespectful to Nick Stevens.

He left a good club to come to Carlton, and he has been a great member of the team. To be fair to Nick, Carlton hasn't provided him with the promises it made to get Nick to Carlton.

I feel the right thing to do, would have made an arrangement that Nick is the Captain for 2008, and then it is open to Judd and Stevens for 2009.

  5. He's their best player by a mile, and has experience in the position.

  6. no he hasn't even played a game for them

but that was most probably part of the deal for him to sign

  7. carlton need something and its a new everything so why not it cant hurt they could do worse ! go the mighty bombers! anyway!

  8. I agree with cutemum and the Chair wizard =)

  9. I think even Judd thinks he has not earned it.

I think he is a little embarrassed.

We can say he should not have accepted, but who wouldn't?lol

  10. Judd has arrived at Carlton with a big reputation from elsewhere. He has no record at Carlton as being one of their top players.  This is an insult to Nick Stevens who has earned his strips at Carlton.

Judd will not be popular at Carlton because he will brown nose Pratt and get paid big bucks, even when he doesn't play due to injuries.

How can a player be loyal to their club when someone else walks in off the street and gets the captaincy.

  11. No. There are many players at Carlton who have been there a long time who should have got the nod over Chris Judd.

  12. He is their best player by far... but I don't think it's fair on other players who have been there for years. It looks like they're just treating him like royalty (I know some think he is), they're falling over backwards for him and it does seem a bit pathetic...

  13. someone please pass me a bucket......

The way Carlton are sucking up to Judd is sickening!

To answer your question...... No, no no - Nick Stevens should have got the Captains job.  Considering Judd is riddled with injury and is yet to play a game with Carlton, its a poor decision - he should earn it first by proving hes worth the big bucks!

  14. Hes the best player...probably never seen him as much as a leader. even at WC I always thought he was a little iuno quiet. It was always Cuz who gave the talks to the players and stuff. But you never no. I would think that they should give him a year so they can get used to him and he can prove hjimself. Although I guess we all know how good he is.

I reckon maybe Jared Wait (iuno th spelling) or someone else should have it for this year at least, then Juddy.

    Good luck to him though.

  15. yes, after all he is the 6 million dollar man, he is the best player on the team, he could make a difference, they'll be interesting to watch in the next few years

  16. It doesn't seem fair, however, the young guys are trying to train the way he trains, trying to get to that elite level. He already has a huge influence on them and a lot of the leadership team agreed he would make a great captain. He does have the experience of captaining a winning side and has got the big match (GF) experience too. It's a good choice, but as you said as a new recruit to the club it does seem a little unfair.

If I had of been the one to make the decision, I would have picked Judd as Vice Captain and had Stevens as Captain.

    - Go Hawks

  17. Being a Crows supporter I don't have a lot of knowledge about this but, in my opinion, it sounds a little unfair seeing as they have just recruited him!

What about the guys that have earned the captaincy, not just giving it to him on a plate!!! He may be a good recruit but I'm pretty sure there is more than one Carlton player that has earned the position before Judd..

  18. hes the best player in the comp so if hes teams dont mind im all for it... but it would be hard for long time carlton players to take

  19. no i dont think so. even though he is the best player , other people deserve it. for example nick stevens

its just to early to give it to judd

  20. Unless there is another Brownlow medalist and Captain of a premiership team in Carltons team then he is the logical choice.

He also got the job over many Eagles that had been around for a lot longer and he was younger didn't seem a problem then.

  21. Absolutely not, There are better players in Carlton than he is. He is a rookie to the team and it's not fair at all.

  22. No, Nick Stevens should've been.

  23. I don't think it is fair others should have been considered Heath Scotland or Nick Stevens, so much for Judd coming to Victoria to escape the limelight more like to be in it

  24. No

#He is under a cloud of injury

#He has been promoted over several decent leaders in the club - eg Stevens

#If he looked like Laurie Oakes and didn't have a volcanic looking girlfriend, he would not have got a Brownlow or the mindless adulation he seems to attract - it's all about PR.

But this is all part of the crash and burn mentality that pervades the club since Elliott...they should rename the Blues the Lemmings

  25. no its not fair at all....he just jumps in to that team and duh we all knew he would be captain straight away ...but its like a stab in the back for players that have been there longer .......i never actually thought he was captain material though
