  1. A: the dodgers are not trying to get rid of Pierre as they stated that Ethier and Jones will be benched. B: they would never get those players for Holliday, you just cant trade your scrappy/crappy players and get stars in return. Marquis is 6-7, has allowed a walk in every start this season and is sometimes bailed out by the offense. There is a reason why Pie is not in the majors because he sucks. .200 batting average and 7 RBI's. Howry a 35 year old reliever who has a 5.19 ERA if i was a GM i would give you Andruw Jones for all those players. HA

  2. I agree on Jason Marquis, but Howry can be good at times and Pie is the Cubs future CF, at least that's what the Cubs think.  I personally think he's expendable.

  3. The rumor mill has it that the Cubs, in order to make sure they get to the playoffs, are trading Derek Lee, Aramis Ramirez, and Carlos Zambrano for John Smoltz, Jorge Posada, and a player to be promoted to AA ball later.

  4. The only one I think they might consider was Howry. Only because he would have the most value right now. But as bad of a year as he has had he could get hot down the stretch and be a big help.

I think they are done trading at this point though.

And to some of these answerers. You do realize that players can still be traded at any point in the year. Now they just need to clear waivers.

And can be on the post season roster if picked up by the end of August.

  5. I'd say Felix Pie. But that's it. They're not going to find anybody to replace Marquis or Howry at this point in the season. Also, as inconsistent as Marquis is, he's a solid #5 starter.

  6. Well they can't trade until the season ends now. The deadline was July 31.

  7. Deadline has passed Can't trade any of them.

  8. felix pie is fast, so he's the only 1 i'd keep other than that, maybe get a good trade, considering big players go for minor leaugers and draft picks nowadays.

  9. I say trade Jason Marquis at the end of the year because they need an OK pitcher for the 5th spot...Sean Marshall hasnt really proved himself even though his last start was great...Bob Howrys just having a rough spell, He is a good reliever. Every pitcher has a rough spell...Yes I believe we should trade Felix Pie before he loses more value...You know what we couldve gotten last year for Felix Pie?? We couldve gotten somebody like Matt Holliday or Vlad Guerrero because everybody thought he was so good.

Right now since the Dodgers are thinking of trading Juan Pierre or Andre Eithier, If they put Juan Pierre on waivers, we should trade Felix Pie and Scott Eyre for him because we dont really need another Lefty in the Pen in Scott Eyre and Felix Pie basically is the most overrated prospect in the decade...plus Juan Pierre is that speedy lefty we needed at the beginning of the year and it could be a 4 guy platoon between RF and CF with Juan Pierre, Kosuke Fukudome, Reed Johnson, and Jim Edmonds...plus Juan Pierre has experience (a key aspect in a World Series team) thats my opinion.

  10. ALL and try to get something good in return

  11. WHy would you break apart a team that is blending perfect? Why would u want to risk messing up chemistry? I'm not a Cubs fan, but I don't see the point in fixing something if it aint broke.

  12. maybe, and second of all they cant trade them for a few more months...
