Or does that leave too much room for error?

  1. I think that the Holy Spirit will guide us, but as baby Christins we need help from people wiser than we are.

  2. Isnt that what has created mixed sects?

  3. Yes, they should. The Spirit of God should be speaking to them in their devotions, which would cause their faith to rise. Praying in tongues as mentioned in Jude also builds up ones' faith.

  4. We should each develop a relationship with God and Jesus and use the bible as a guide book, and learn from the holy spirit.  If you are following the holy spirit there is no room for doubt.  And Teh Thyme, God did not create mixed sects.  He gave one truth, humans are the ones who convoluted it.

  5. Philippians 2:12

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

  6. There is no denying that true Christianity teaches individuality in what a person will trust God for. God made many promises and it's up to the person to decide what to trust Him for. So it's very personal.

When people get into trouble, they focus on something other than trusting God, and then call that Christianity.

Christianity is about trusting God- which is something the world will not do. They might be moral or 'good' people without being Christian. But trusting God for what He said is a Christian thing, when they are taught right.

  7. Yes I think that is the best source.Sure we can interpret in error.

Therefor we have to humbly submit to God and ask for His guidance.

  8. If Christians actually followed the teachings of their bible, 1/3 of the planet's population would be psychopathic serial killers.

  9. It's not our own sense of faith. It's our faith in God. God is the source of our faith. The Bible even says that. God/the Lord Jesus Christ is the reason for our faith, not ourselves.

  10. Everyone's faith is a little different, but when there's error it's because they misinterpreted the Bible.

  11. We all are given a measure of faith according to Romans 12:3. The bible also encourages us to submit to the elders and leaders within the church and to trust them. In this sense there are five ministry gifts given in Ephesians 4:11. Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Teachers and Evangelists are all given to edify and build up the believers in their faith.

There is also a personal sense where the Holy Spirit does enlighten us over the implied meaning in various passages. This is known as a Rhema word, or personal revelation. It is not meant to conflict with the church leadership, but rather compliment and support it. Each Christian however definitely uses the scriptures to develop and enhance their own personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. In so doing their own personal faith is often strengthened during their personal time spent studying the scriptures.
