Question:

Should Congress take an August break before solving the energy problems?

'Dysfuntional', 'accomplished little even when in session', 'chaotic'. These were some of the terms used last summer when the Iraqi Parliment wanted to take a break. This year they fit our Congress who plans to take an August break, leaving us with huge fuel prices. Shouldn't they ditch the vacation and get something done?

  1. They've been working hard at making sure nothing gets done until after the elections. They need a brake.

It's all a political move. Democrats are going to block everything they can hoping gas prices rise etc. so they can blame Bush in order to try and get more votes during the elections. They care more about gainings seats/the white house than they do for the people of this nation.

  2. if they do not fix it i suggest they take a pay cut

  3. "Congress....solving"

    BwaHAHAHAHAHA.....

Thanks, I needed a good laugh!

  4. Congress needs to stop taking breaks altogether.

The fact that they get huge breaks like this is completely insane. This is why our political system is in such shambles right now. Congress is really aiming to help themselves and their respective parties, not the american public.

They hardly need a break. Doctors, lawyers, construction workers, truckers, etc are the people who need breaks, but society has deemed their jobs far to vital (which is true) to the success of our country to allow such breaks. Why should our government be given such special treatments, when arguably they are some of the most important people out there?

  5. Heck no...  they gotta have SOME time to spend the money they've earned as a result of their most recent pay raise...  must be nice to work less than half the year and decide your own salary...

  6. NO WAY..  THEY MUST BE HOME TO RAISE MONEY TO GET RE ELECTED SO THEY CAN **** US ALL
